Code for gridview rowupdating in asp net the problems with dating widows
This is a Grid View that can be bound to any table of any database of any server, providing Insert, Edit and Delete option simultaneously. Text = Field Name; private void On Data Binding(object sender, Event Args e) Hi i use datatable to bind datagridview first time code run smoothly.
As long as we know the name of fields in advance we don’t need ,even, to know about interface. Hi, I have followed your codes, but once I click on the Edit button, event on Row Edit of gridview doesn't fire at all. when i update one row then only updated rows display in gridview, at the same time datatable have all rows present what is problem pls give me soln on [email protected],given that you made an amazing work im having problem updating a record with boolean value. However i had to fit the code to work with Odbc should i change the values for true/false?
You can notice that I have kept Required Field Validator too inside the Edit Item Template as I want the textbox to be validated for empty data.
In the same way you can put any kind of Validation controls inside Edit Item Template to validate the form element while user will click Update link.
That’s why I have placed different templates like Item Template (for normal view) and Edit Item Template (for edit view).Since we are going for a case where we don’t know the number of fields of a table and their description (Name, Data Type etc) in advance therefore we need to create the templates dynamically according to fields of the particular table. This is where the concept of dynamically templated Grid View comes. This article was very useful for me, but I was wandering about one problem I am having with this. I am using this to Dynamically create the entire Grid View object. If I insert a new record into the gridview, how to set the FOCUS to any particular text-field in this new record? I will be using Sql objects directly into methods to keep the example simple and straight forward.
